June 29 2016
Shortly after putting the 2016 Festival in the books, we started planning for 2017. One way is to invite our generous sponsors to renew and if they do so by June 15, they become eligible for a prize. Of the 62 who met the deadline, the Skagit County Historical Museum was randomly selected to win.
That’s Sponsorship Coordinator David Johnson presenting the prize to Jo Wolfe, Development Director for the Museum. The tulips are from Washington Bulb Company while the certificate is for bulbs from Tulip Town in September.
Notice the poster behind them? It’s our 1995 edition by Jesus Guilen and it’s on loan to the Museum for their exhibit “Voces del Valle” “Voices of the Valley” Stories of the Latino community in Skagit County from 1940 to the recent history – in their own voices which runs through September 25.
