While we cast no aspersions, we have found that holiday festivities can leave one with more than a warm glow from the memories…how about a few extra pounds?  Our friends at United General Hospital and Cascade Mall in Burlington have joined forces to make it easier (and more fun) to get some of that needed exercise.

The Cascade Mall is open to walkers Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m.and each Tuesday, United General Hospital provides free blood pressure checks during the walking period.

What are the benefits of mall walking?

Out of the weather: Inside a climate controlled mall, walkers can dress comfortably and not worry about wind, rain, snow, or ice.

Away from the traffic: No intersections to cross, broken glass or bushes obstructing the path, auto fumes, or curious canines.

Security: Walking with others, with mall security on duty.

Companionship: It’s more fun together!

And, of course, restrooms and water are always nearby!
