While many people dig up their tulips each season, perhaps just as many leave the bulbs in the ground over summer. What’s the best way to water the tulips in your garden during these dry summer months?
a) Regular weekly watering, just like other flowering plants
b) Keep them dry; don’t water them in the summer
c) Water deeply, but not frequently.
d) Water only when the top two inches of the soil above the bulbs is dry.
The answer: (b) Don’t water.
